TAKE A LOOK AT THE ALL-NEW 2020 HONDA CIVIC TYPE R

Having just made its world debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon last month, the all-new 2020 Honda Civic Type R was just revealed at the Chicago Auto Show this week!  The 2020 Honda Civic Type R showcases a number of changes – including improved performance, revised styling, and the addition of standard Honda Sensing Technologies!  Keep reading to learn more!

Power

The 2020 Honda Civic Type R continues to draw amazing power from a race-bred 2.0-Liter Turbocharged 4-Cylinder Engine with Direct Injection, and VTEC Valvetrain, putting out an incredible 306-Horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of Torque, while delivering power to the front wheels through a 6-Speed Manual Transmission – with Limited-Slip Differential!  Drivers will also have the option of choosing from 3 driving modes – Comfort, Sport and +R!  Plus, also new for 2020, is Active Sound Control, which Honda described in a press release as a system that “modifies interior sound in concert with chosen drive mode.”

Performance

The new 2020 Civic Type R also improves its driving dynamics by adding Two-Piece Brake Rotors and new Brake Pads!  In addition, the Suspension has also been revised for the 2020 model year, with Updated Dampers, Stiffer Rear Bushings, and Front Suspension modifications!

Styling

Exterior design enhancements for the 2020 Honda Civic Type R include a new larger Front Grille – for improved engine cooling, and a new exterior color – Boost Blue!  Drivers can also expect added refinement on the inside with an Alcantara Wrapped Steering Wheel, and restyled Shift Knob!

Honda Sensing Technologies

The 2020 Honda Civic Type R also comes equipped with standard Honda Sensing Technologies – making it the first time that Honda Sensing will be available as standard equipment on all Civic models and trims. Honda Sensing Technologies include Forward Collision Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow.
