HONDA 2020 MODELS EARN SIX IIHS TOP SAFETY RATINGS

HONDA 2020 MODELS EARN SIX IIHS TOP SAFETY RATINGS

Honda has just earned six IIHS Top Safety Ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety – including the Top Safety Pick Rating for their 2020 Accord, 2020 CR-V and 2020 Civic models (Coupe, Sedan and Hatchback)!   In addition, the 2020 Insight has also earned the Top Safety Pick+ Rating, while the Honda Sensing Collision Mitigation Braking System received a SUPERIOR Rating, for Frontal Crash Prevention!

To earn the 2020 Top Safety Pick Award, a vehicle has to earn a “GOOD” Crashworthiness Rating in all test modes. In addition, top-rated vehicles must also offer Front Crash Prevention – that earns an “ADVANCED” or “SUPERIOR” Rating in both Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Pedestrian testing, as well as “GOOD” or “ACCEPTABLE” Ratings for available headlights

Also worth noting for the 2020 model year is that the CR-V and Civic joined the Accord, Insight and Passport in providing Honda Sensing Technologies as “standard” equipment – on all trim levels!   Honda Sensing Technologies include Collision Mitigation Braking System with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation w/ Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control!

Also good to know is that additional Honda models are also expected to receive top safety ratings from the IIHS in 2020, as the Institute completes further testing.
